MDIS Virtual STEM Festival 2020
Welcome to the 4th Annual MDIS STEM Festival
We are excited to have you join our 2020 Virtual Fall STEM Festival!
Our 4th Annual MDIS STEM Festival was held on October 30, 2020. We are happy to have held this event virtually this year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This event was held in conjunction with The Maryland STEM Festival which is a month-long celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics that takes place every Fall.
Below you can explore our Virtual STEM Festival. Inside, you will find pre-recorded STEM Activities & Presentations prepared by our students, information and videos from our STEM Speaker Series, and photos from our live Pumpkin Chunkin Challenge Event. We would like to give a special thank you to our speakers for educating our students on how STEM can impact our careers and workplaces.
The theme for this year’s event was based on backwards mapping from our Annual Earth Day 2021 theme “Restore Our Earth’. Our Middle Years Program (6-10) and Diploma Program (11-12) students chose topics that combined this theme with STEM such as clean water, clean energy, and standards of living. Our Primary Years Programme students worked off of the STEM-O-WEEN theme as they prepared video tutorials on fall-related STEM topics. We invite you to follow along and complete these STEM activities at home!
Thank you for your support of the MDIS 4th Annual STEM Festival! We hope you enjoy your time with us!
Our Virtual STEM Festival below is best viewed on a computer on Google Chrome. We also recommend viewing the presentation and videos in full-screen mode by choosing the full-screen option in the bottom right corner of the presentation.
